Day 13 The Freedom to Forgive (40 Prayers for my Husband)
40 days of Prayers for my Husband . Biblical MarriageToday’s Scripture focus is Matthew 11:25.
The context of chapter 11 of Mark is all about the authority of Christ. At the beginning of the chapter Yeshua has His the famous ride on a colt into Jerusalem on what is now called Palm Sunday. This was a statement in itself that Yeshua was the Messiah. The next day, Yeshua curses a fig tree as He and His disciples pass it on their walk back into Jerusalem. That same day He drove out the people who were buying and selling in God’s House. And He says, “Is it not written, “My House shall be called a house of prayer for all Nations?” As evening came that day, He and His disciples journeyed back to where they were staying and as they passed the fig tree that He had cursed. The disciples were amazed to see it was withered to the roots. They pointed it out to Yeshua and he told them, that if they had faith, they too would have the authority to do great things. But there was one other requirement. To have the power that comes through faith in prayer, they need to do one more thing.
The requirement to move mountains requires unwavering faith, AND forgiveness. We must forgive. This is a repeated message from Messiah. When He taught His Disciples to pray, He told them to speak the words, “and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others.”
If we want the authority and power that Yeshua gives us, we must forgive others. There is no other way.
Forgiveness can be hard to do, especially forgiving family, leaders, friends, and ourselves. That is why we must ask God to give us the power to do it.
Father God in Heaven,
Thank you for sending your Son. Thank you for His life on earth, and His redeeming death, and conquering resurrection. Thank you for Your Word, which reveals to us that Yeshua of Nazareth was and is the promised Messiah. Thank you for the Scriptures that have recorded His life and prove He has the Authority and Power to forgive sin. It is hard to wrap my mind around the fact that He gives us the same power. I ask that you help me to always believe without doubting in that power and help me to always stand before you with a forgiving heart. IF there is any doubt, fear, resentment, or unforgiveness in my heart reveal it to me so that I might have a clear conscious in prayer always.
Yehovah, in my marriage, let me never hold on to hurt or anger, but always showing your mercy, grace, and forgiveness to my husband, and myself. I ask this for Jeremy as well. Lord, give him clarity into his own bitterness, resentments, or unforgiveness and help him to surrender those things to You. Help him see himself as You see him, and most of all help him forgive himself of past mistakes. Make him a man of faith and prayer. Remind him of the authority given to him through Your Son. Let Your Name be glorified through him.
Make us a family that is a testimony of Yeshua.
In His Name,
Amen
If you do not know the story of Mark 11, I urge you to read it and see how Yeshua proves His authority and then passes it on to His disciples.

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
