Day 25 Colossians 3 (40 Prayers for my Husband)
40 days of Prayers for my Husband . Biblical MarriageJeremy and I have been married almost 30 years. It is a strong marriage, but that is because we have put Christ first. We have had many changes, trials, and hardships, as well as, many blessings throughout our marriage so far. Neither of us are perfect, and we both continue to grow and change as individuals. It is true that God makes a man and woman one in marriage, but this oneness is maintained with dedication and commitment. Today, I focus on our need for each other, and our focus on unity.
I have chosen to use Colossians 3 as my prayer model.
Abba Father,
Since you have raised up Christ for us, set our hearts on things above, where Messiah is, seated at your right hand. Set our minds on things above, not on earthly things. Through Christ we have died, and our life is now hidden with Him in You, Oh, Yehovah. When Christ, who is our life, appears, then we also will appear with Him in glory. Hallelujah!
Help us put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to our earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, Your wrath is coming. Therefore, though we used to walk in these ways, in the life we once lived. Let us now rid ourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from our lips. Help us be honest and not lie to each other, since we have taken off our old self with its evil ways and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of You, our Creator. Remind us that You see all as Your children. Christ is all, and is in all.
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe us with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Help us bear with each other and forgive one another. If we have a grievance against someone help us let it go and forgive. Forgive as You forgave us. And over all these virtues help us put on love, which binds us all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Messiah rule in our hearts, since we are members of one body called to peace. And let us be thankful. Ready with the message of Christ dwelling deeply among us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in our hearts. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, may we do it all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to You, Abba through him.
Lord, make me the wife, my husband needs, submit myself to him, as is fitting as I place my trust in You, Yehovah.
Help Jeremy, my husband to love me his wife, and do not let him be harsh or cruel towards me.
Help us, together, teach our children, to obey us, their parents in everything, for this pleases You.
Help Jeremy be a father that does not embitter his children, but rather make him a father who encourages his children in love.
I ask that you would help us to obey those who are placed over us in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on us, for favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for You, Oh, Lord. Whatever we do, let us work at it with all our heart, as working for You, alone, not for mere men, since we know that we will receive an inheritance from you Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Our Messiah we are serving. Let us also remember anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.
Help us always do what is right and fair, because we know that you are our Master in heaven.
Give a a deep desire to devote ourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for all, too, that God may open a door for His message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ to all. I pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should in word and actions. Help both Jeremy and I be wise in the way we act toward unbelievers; making the most of every opportunity. Let our conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that we may know how to answer everyone.
May You be Glorified in all we say and do.
In Yeshua’s Name,
Amen

Things to know as you visit our site
We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
