Standing Firm in the Gospel (Gospel of Jesus Christ series)Gospel of Yeshua Messiah series . Katie
I am on a quest to find and truly understand what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is, and how it applies to me. I decided to start in the new testament books written to the early church of Thessalonica. These two letters written by Paul and his companions are letters of encouragement to a body of believers to stand firm in their knowledge and understanding of the Gospel.
When I study the New Testament I like to read it in several translations and when I have time I enjoy looking up the root meaning of the words in the Greek language and the Hebrew equivalent. Because I know and realize that the English versions of the Bible that I own are NOT the most accurate translations of the original meaning of the writers.
So, in my last post I discussed 1 Thessalonians 1. I would like to take a look at this next passage in a different version. Today, I am reading from my Complete Jewish Bible. Read along with me, and remember we are looking to the scriptures to find the true understanding of what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is.
1 Thessalonians 2
I notice that PAul writes about them sharing the Word of God and the people embracing it as Truth. This again causes me to ask myself, “what is the Word of God, what is the Good News?”
Join me next time a I keep looking for the answers.

Things to know as you visit our site
We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
