Reading with Katie (Day 5)

Bible Reading Challenge

So, today was a very busy day.  We got a little Bible reading in this morning.

I started my morning with Psalms 128 and 129

Then I read with the kids Proverbs 3 and 4.

We recited Proverbs 1:7

Then we read and discussed 1 John 2:18-3:9

Then we got busy for the day.  We started a big project yesterday.  The project was a small surprise for Lydia.  But a big job.  Lydia recently bought a bunch of studio equipment and software to record her music.  So, we wanted to make her a special studio.  There was a perfect place in our house for recording.  The only problem was it was our family clothes closet.  That means this little room/den was full of shelves and clothes.  Everyone in our house keeps their clothes in this same closet.  19 people have a lot of clothes to keep track off.  So, to make this new studio for Lydia would require that all those clothes find a new place to be kept.  So, Lydia left to go to the Elliott’s house for the day at 8:45 am.  The rest of us went into work mode.  We emptied out every closet and bedroom on the second floor.  We actually prepared for this process starting yesterday.  Yesterday, we emptied and organized all the closets on the main floor, and then we also cleaned and organized every space in the basement.  We knew for this to work we would need more closet/storage space in the basement and main floor.

So, this morning we began the process of redoing the whole upstairs.  I forgot to take before pictures.  But here are a few pictures of the process and the finished studio.

This room was full of shelves and clothes when we started. Almost empty now.
Getting all the shelving down.
This room was full of everything that had no place in the house. We found a place for all of it, and now it is being used for mom, dad, Benny, Anna, and Mary clothes.

Moving everything out of the closets and sorting it in the loft.
Moving everything out of the boys closet and sorting it on their beds.

More stuff from the closets to be sorted.
The boys bedroom closet is empty and we are hanging up clothes in there now.
A cleaned out closet.

This used to be the linen closet, but is now the boys clothes closet.
The closet in the girls room was full of totes of clothes for summer time. But now it is the big girl clothes closet.
Piles and piles of clothes to sort and move.

The loft is starting to look cleaned up again.
The boys new clothes closet is all done.
The boys bed room is cleaned up and in order again.

BOys room all in order again.

The new studio is starting to look like a studio.
Keyboard and stands are up.
One guitar in place.

Getting the music put away.
All of Lydia’s music brought up from the basement.
Getting the equipment set up.

Brenden testing out the software and the equipment.

So, we got a lot of work done today, and only read a little in our Bible.  But we were able to bless a sister.  Oh, and during this big project i had to take little Anna, age 5, to have her eyes checked.  On the way home she sang to me as I drove in the snow.  She sang , “I got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart, down in my heart, down in my heart to slave.  And I’m so happy so very happy.  I got the love of Jesus in my heart.”  She sang and sang, and I never told her that it was suppose to be, “in my heart to stay.”  Cause it was just to precious listening to her way.

Happy reading, and God bless.

Things to know as you visit our site

We are Bible believing, scripture only people.  We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith.  We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God.  The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.

These writings were originally written by men inspired by God.  They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents.  Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains.  Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.

In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua.  Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
