If I just opened my Bible and read this long genealogical list in 1 Chronicles 1-16, it would be hard to read because they would mean nothing to me. But because I read from the beginning of the Bible to here, they mean something, I understand it better! Now that’s pretty cool!! The names have
Rachel reporting from Western Kansas (day 29 of the challenge)
Bible Reading ChallengeNOTE: (from mom) We are now a third of the way through the challenge. Rachel and Tyler Ann have left for their month of serving at a Farm Camp for the month of June. Lydia and Daniel will head to training for their summer work with local children. Even though they are not home
Wow, this challenge is really been hard for our family. But we are so glad to keep at it. This week during one of our reading sessions Jeremy pointed out something really cool that I want to share with you. Did you know the phrase “the way” is from the Old Testament. The Way is
I have been learning a lot by doing this Bible challenge. A thing I have learned by reading the book of Judges is to teach my children (whom I have none yet, and I’m not married yet), but when I have children I need to teach them to love the their God with all their
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is David and Goliath. David told Saul that he would fight Goliath, but Saul told him that he wasn’t experienced enough and that he was too young. We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
