We did it!!! The Old Testament is all read. (90 day challenge day 70)
Bible Reading ChallengeWe are so excited that our whole family has read through the complete Old Testament together in the last 70 days. It has not been an easy task, but we have enjoyed it and grown from it.
Here is a list of just a few things I learned during this reading time together.
From
Genesis: I was reminded that YHWH is my creator and that He loves His creation.
Exodus and Numbers: YHWH has a plan for His people to save them from their own rebellion and sin.
Leviticus and Numbers: God’s ways may not make sense to me, but He truly has my best in mind when He asks me to obey Him.
The History books: Joshua, Judges, Kings, Samuels, and Chronicles, etc: God will use whatever means necessary to bring His rebellious children to Him. He has an ultimate plan, and it will be accomplished. By war, famine, diseases, and any other means, He will get His people to follow His way.
Esther and Ruth: YHWH’s great plan is to use me and you to accomplish it. Everyone has a purpose in His plan, big and small, and they all lead to Him redeeming His people.
The prophets: God is never, ever, ever changing. Man will continue to live a cycle of rebellion, but God will pursue His children to bring them to righteousness and peace. God loves the lost, and He will give them every opportunity to be Found. If I want to be like God, I need to love the lost and not let pride keep me from sharing His love with those whom I think are undeserving of His love. Because I am just as undeserving.
Well, that is just touching the surface of what I got out of these last 70 days. Tonight, we move into the new Testament. 20 Days to go, and I can’t wait to see what YHWH has to teach us in these days.
Our greatest hope is that as we share our Bible reading with you that it encourages you to spend more time reading your Bible. Maybe reading through the Bible in 90 days sounds impossible to you. Then take it one day at a time. Just open up your Bible at the beginning and start reading. Read a little each day and keep going. You will be amazed at how God speaks to you though his Word.

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
