Feeling like a Homesteader

Family . Home Schooling . Katie's Ramblings

Tyler Ann went and picked up her chickens today.  We are making plans to put in a big garden this year.  Yes, I think we are feeling a little like homesteaders.  We decided to wait on goats for a little while longer, but we are making plans for them.

Here are some pictures of Tyler’s new babies. To see them close up, just click on the picture.

She got 4 Buff Orpington (yellow and soft),  4 Isa Brown,(they look brown and yellow now, but will be all brown when grown),  3 Ameraucana bantam (black and brown and will lay green eggs), and 2 Black cochin (black and white now, but will be all black).

This is a yellow Buff .
Huddling together, trying to get away from all the kids.
Rachel named a yellow Buff StarLord.

Hide, everyone hide.
This one tried to fly into my face.
Tyler named her black Jasper.

Davey named this one Pi.

Davey really liked holding the chick.
Miah named this one Wild Style.
Tyler is so excited and happy.

Zach named a brown Buzz.
Mary named this one Princess.

Bekah named this one Nugget.
Benny in in love.

He can’t get enough of these fuzzy little peeping things.
Josh named this one Chocolate Chip.

Lydia named this black one, Wolfgang

Stephen named this one Super Chick.
Anna also named her brown chick, Princess II.
There are two left for Brenden and Daniel to name. A Buff and A Brown.

Things to know as you visit our site

We are Bible believing, scripture only people.  We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith.  We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God.  The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.

These writings were originally written by men inspired by God.  They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents.  Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains.  Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.

In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua.  Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
