I am so excited to celebrate and blow the trumpet to announce this Holy day of Yom Teruah. Today, we read about the Sheep Gate. If you haven’t downloaded the free book here is the link.
The sheep gate is the same gate that Yeshua, our Messiah, rode in on a donkey four days before His death. The sheep gate is also where the pool of Bethesda (place of mercy) is located. I love this comparison the author makes between the age of the lame man that Yeshua healed and the years that the Israelites wondered in the desert.
John 5:1-3
One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
Deuteronomy 2:14
Thirty-eight years passed from the time we left Kadesh Barnea until we crossed the Zered Valley. By then, that entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the LORD had sworn to them.
When we are young, 38 years seems like forever. But when we are 38, we realize we have so much more to learn. As I am almost 50, I realize there is still so much to learn. I am so grateful for seasons like this to search my heart and to turn my eyes towards Yeshua. I want to have eyes to see, and ears to hear. I want to die to myself, and live for Christ. I am so grateful that He came to teach us how to live, and to die so that we might truly live eternally.
Today, I ask,
Yeshua, please search my heart and reveal any wicked way in it. Know my every thought, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. If there is anything that is keeping me from growing in my relationship with you and Your People than reveal it to me, and remove it from me. I do not want to go back to the desert, and I never want to go back to Egypt. Lead me on the straight and narrow path that leads to the Promised Land. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for your Death. May I never forget it and may I always rejoice in it.
Amen

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
