Day 8 Godly Hearts (30 Day Prayer Challenge for the Children)
Biblical Living . Parenting . Prayer Challenge . Prayer Challenge for the ChildrenAs I said in the introduction, this challenge is an opportunity to spend the next thirty days being intentional about praying for a child or children.
I hope you had time to decide and write down the name or names of the child/children you will be praying for the next 30 days. If not take the time and do that now. Also, I would encourage you to use a prayer book/journal and write out your prayer each day. This just really allows to really think and ponder on the words, and gives you something to look back at as God answers these prayers. Reuse the prayers and add new notes as you continue to pray for the children in your life.
No matter how you choose to use this prayer guide, the most important thing is to be intentional. Don’t just make it a habit or chore that you check off your to do list each day. Make time and take time to really pray for the child/children, and ask God to show you ways to bless them.
Each day I will post the topic and scripture, and write out my prayer for you to use as a guide, as you go to the Father in prayer. No matter whom God lays on your heart to pray for that is exactly who you should be praying for.
May Yehovah God bless us as we seek to bless Him and His children.
Amen
Day 8
Pray that God would give them kind, loving, and compassionate hearts.
Ephesians 4:32, Ephesians 5:2; Colossians 3:12-13
Father,
It is my greatest desire that my children set their hearts on things above, where Messiah is, seated at Your right hand, Father God. Make it their desire to set their minds on things above, not on earthly things. Help them die to self, and give them new life hidden in Messiah, who is life. So that one day they will appear with him in glory.
May my children put to death whatever belongs to their earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. So that they will be free from the wrath of God that is coming. May they never walk in these ways, that lead to death. But if they are, free them and help them now rid themselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from their lips. Keep them from lying to each other, since made new in Messiah and being renewed in knowledge in His image of the Creator.
Help my children identify as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Give them the strength to bear with each other and forgive one another if anyone has a grievance against someone. Teach them to forgive as the You forgave us. And over all these virtues help them put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Messiah rule in their hearts, since as members of one body we are called to peace. And give them thankful hearts. Let the message of Messiah dwell among them richly as I seek to teach and admonish them with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in my heart. And whatever I do, whether in word or deed, may I do it all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to You, God the Father through Him. So, that I may be a true example of a Godly heart set on Your Kingdom.
In Your Son’s Name, Yeshua,
Amen
(paraphrased from Colossians 3)

Things to know as you visit our site
We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
