Day 16 Colossians 1 (40 Prayers for my Husband)
40 days of Prayers for my Husband . Biblical MarriageToday’s suggested theme is for wonder in the wild, but the book uses one of my favorite passages Colossians 1. I love praying Colossians 1, for myself, my spouse, my siblings, my leaders, children, and friends. It is such a beautiful prayer that reminds us of who Messiah is and who we are in Him. So, again I am choosing to just pray the prayer from scripture.
I love that this prayer starts with thanksgiving. We are told over and over through scripture to give thanks and then bring our requests to Yehovah. So, I love this format. So let’s pray.
Father,
Thank you for the gift and opportunity to pray for my spouse because of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you that my husband has placed his faith in Messiah Yeshua and that you have filled him with love for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for him in heaven. Of this we have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to us, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among us, since the day we heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, just as we learned it from Your Word. Many faithful ministers of Christ have shared with us and have made known to us your love in the Spirit.
And so, we ask that we may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of You, Yehovah our God, fully pleasing to You: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; being strengthened with all power, according to Your glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the You, Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. You have delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of Your beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Yeshua, our, image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross. And we, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, we have now reconciled in Yeshua’s body of flesh by His death, in order to present us holy and blameless and above reproach before Him, if indeed we continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that we heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven. Amen and Hallelujah!!!
Now I rejoice in my trials and temptations and struggles even in marriage, and in my flesh I am weak, and ask that You fill up what is lacking through Christ’s afflictions for the sake of His body, that is, the community of believers, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for You alone, to make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to Your saints. To all whom God chose to make known how great among the Nations are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Messiah in you, the hope of glory. It is Yeshua, alone, we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Messiah. For this I toil, struggling with all Your energy that You powerfully work within me. Yah, I pray this for me, and for Jeremy, that together we will proclaim these Truths.
Amen and Amen, May it Be!

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
