Day 13 Godly Leader (30 Day Prayer Challenge for the Children)

Biblical Living . Parenting . Prayer Challenge for the Children . Prayer Challenges
As I said in the introduction, this challenge is an opportunity to spend the next thirty days being intentional about praying for a child or children.
I hope you had time to decide and write down the name or names of the child/children you will be praying for the next 30 days.  If not take the time and do that now.  Also, I would encourage you to use a prayer book/journal and write out your prayer each day.  This just really allows to really think and ponder on the words, and gives you something to look back at as God answers these prayers.  Reuse the prayers and add new notes as you continue to pray for the children in your life.
No matter how you choose to use this prayer guide, the most important thing is to be intentional.  Don’t just make it a habit or chore that you check off your to do list each day.  Make time and take time to really pray for the child/children, and ask God to show you ways to bless them.
Each day I will post the topic and scripture, and write out my prayer for you to use as a guide, as you go to the Father in prayer.  No matter whom God lays on your heart to pray for that is exactly who you should be praying for.
May Yehovah God bless us as we seek to bless Him and His children.
Amen

Day 13 – Pray that your children will be Godly leaders.

This past week I saw Yehovah at work answering my prayers for my children.  I saw amazing things like Him protecting my adult children from harm in health and life.  But, I also went through some tough days with a couple of my children.  Days that left me crying myself to sleep at night.  You may be wondering how these days are an answer to prayer.  the fact is that our children are people.  They have their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and sometimes we can not see what is right in front of us.  Some of my children were dealing with things I was not aware of.  Things beyond their maturity and Yehovah opened my eyes to help them.  It was a painful few days, and there is more things we need to overcome.  But, I have been asking Him to help me teach them, prepare them, and for Him to call them to repentance.  He is gracious and compassionate and answers our prayers.

I often say that I am God’s favorite.  What people don’t realize is Job was also God’s favorite.  He test and tries His Favorites to grow them in their relationship with Him.  So, if you find as you do this prayer challenge, that parenting your children these past couple of weeks has been very trying, then keep going He is truly at work.

Today, we pray that our children will be Godly Leaders.  I am going to use Romans 12 as my prayer today.

Mat 5:13-16; Romans 12:1-2; Psalms 1:1-6

Merciful Father,

I want my children to offer their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You—as this is the true and proper way to worship You.  I don’t want them to be conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of their mind. So they  will be able to be test and approve and know what Your will is—Your good, pleasing and perfect will.

Do not let them think of themselves more highly than they ought, but rather think of themselves with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith You have distributed to each. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If their gift is prophesying, then let them prophesy in accordance with their faith;  if it is serving, then let them serve; if it is teaching, then let them teach; if it is to encourage, then let them give encouragement; if it is giving, then let them give generously; if it is to lead, then let them  do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, let them do it cheerfully.

Let love be sincere. Help them hate what is evil; and cling to what is good. May they be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above themselves.  Never lacking in zeal, but keeping spiritual fervor, serving You, Yehovah.  Fill them with hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. teach them to share with the Your people who are in need and to practice hospitality.

May they bless those who persecute them; bless and do not curse.  And rejoice with those who rejoice; and mourn with those who mourn, and Live in harmony with one another. Keep them from pride, but be willing to associate with people of low position.  Do not let them be conceited.

May they never repay anyone evil for evil. But be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible let them live at peace with everyone. May they never take revenge but leave room for Your wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says Yehovah.

Also it is written:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Keep them from being overcome by evil, but let them through Your Power and Will overcome evil with good.

Amen
