People are always asking me what I am using for school, especially Bible class. Since, Bible and History are my favorite subjects to teach, I am always looking for fun ways to teach my children.
This summer I wrote out a Bible reading guide for our family that matches the Torah portions with New Testament passages. I matched Genesis with John, Exodus with the book of Luke and Acts, Leviticus with Hebrews, Numbers with Romans, and Deuteronomy with Matthew. This is a great way to read and study Scripture.
By reading through a whole book at a time, we can better understand the true context. Seeing how each verse, phrase, paragraph, and story fits together.
Each Sunday, I write on the corner of the whiteboard in our dinning room (school room) the passages of Scripture for the week.
For example:
June 9, 2024
Numbers 4-8
Romans 3-4
Then I remind the students to read and study these passages through the week, so that, on Sabbath, we as a family can read them aloud and discuss them.
To help them with the process I make the coloring/doodle books. Here is a link to the materials I used to make the current books they each have. I print them out and make them into bound books. Then they can use the same books for a couple years, adding to them as the years go by, and they mature and learn new things.
I like to download and print out each picture and put them in chapter and verse order. I then bind them.

I love teachers pay teachers. This is just one really good notebook idea for older students.
Here is the site I got my Numbers coloring pages from.

I hope this helps and blesses others.
