The question: Why don’t you work, buy or sell on Saturday?
My answer:
I believe in the one True God, Yehovah, the God of the Bible. I believe the Bible, sixty-six books, is the Word of God, Holy and True.
In the first book of the Bible, Genesis chapter one, God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them in six days, and on the seventh day, He rested.
Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 2:1-3
“Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. 2By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”
Yehovah declared the seventh day a Holy day. Holy means set apart, special, sacred. In the book of Exodus, Yehovah God gave His people the ten commandments. One of these commandments is:
Exodus 20:8-11
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9“Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is a sabbath of Yehovah your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or ,your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. 11“For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.”
The Bible also says that Yehovah never changes.
Malachi 3:6
“For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.
So, I believe that what He told His people in Exodus is still good for His people now. So, whenever I can rest on the seventh day, Saturday, and not work and not cause another to work, I choose to do just that.

Things to know as you visit our site
We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
