So I am hoping in this series to show you how human I am. Like you I am not perfect and my life is not perfect either.
Day five of this reading and sharing, I barely got into the Word at all. I woke up with a bad case of morning sickness. I have experienced more morning sickness this pregnancy than all of the other ones combined. I am truly amazed at my mother and sister who, like many other woman have sickness throughout each and every pregnancy. Even with bouts of sickness, my pregnancies are very easy.
That being said, I woke with sickness that set my day off all wrong. By the time my body was ready for the day, I was way behind schedule. So, I just skipped morning Bible and went on to the other lessons for the day. Yep, even we skip Bible some days. It happens, but the fact that our goal is to always make Bible the center of our day and learning means even when we skip a lesson we are not behind. We still have all the Word in us that we have been studying, reading, and memorizing. The kids still did their independent Bible copy work and their Bible story time with dad in the afternoon.
But for me I didn’t get a chance to sit down and read my Bible until the evening. In fact, I didn’t read much of anything in my Bible, all day except what I read with the family in the evening. I did have a great Bible discussion with a friend on the phone in the morning. But my only time actually reading the Word was after dinner with the family.
Here is what we read:
We read 1 John 1-2:17. (yep, again.)
We read Exodus 20 (again)
We read Hebrews 13:1-6
We read Psalms 119:121-128
Are you wondering why we keep reading the same passages over and over. We are memorizing the 10 commandments as a family, and studying them out. I John is a letter all about how we are to love Jesus (Yeshua) and walk in obedience to the commandments just as He did. It is a great letter that explains how we as believers should follow our Lord Jesus Christ in love which leads to obedience.
We read a section of Psalms 119 with each lesson as a prayer, this chapter of Psalms is a prayer and cry out to YHVH that we might always walk in all His Ways, and that He would never leave or forsake us, and that He would fight for us. It is a great reminder of why we should obey God’s commandments.

IT is the morning of day 6, and I am up and have enjoyed reading Psalms 128 and 129 as I sit in my living room chair. My children will be ready for group time soon, and then we will be using the whole day to make a special surprise for Lydia. I will try and remember to take some pictures as we work. So, look forward to that tomorrow.
