Day 5 Grow in the Fruit of the Spirit (30 Day Prayer Challenge for the Children)

As I said in the introduction, this challenge is an opportunity to spend the next thirty days being intentional about praying for a child or children.

I hope you had time to decide and write down the name or names of the child/children you will be praying for the next 30 days.  If not take the time and do that now.  Also, I would encourage you to use a prayer book/journal and write out your prayer each day.  This just really allows to really think and ponder on the words, and gives you something to look back at as God answers these prayers.  Reuse the prayers and add new notes as you continue to pray for the children in your life.

No matter how you choose to use this prayer guide, the most important thing is to be intentional.  Don’t just make it a habit or chore that you check off your to do list each day.  Make time and take time to really pray for the child/children, and ask God to show you ways to bless them.

Each day I will post the topic and scripture, and write out my prayer for you to use as a guide, as you go to the Father in prayer.  No matter whom God lays on your heart to pray for that is exactly who you should be praying for.

May Yehovah God bless us as we seek to bless Him and His children.

Amen

Day 5

Day 5 – Pray that your children would grow in the fruit of the Spirit, and Godly character.

Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Timothy 6:11-122 Timothy 2:22

Today, we are going to take our prayer right out of Scripture again.  I feel like when we pray Scripture we can be assured that we are praying within the will of the Father.

So, Galatians 5:22-26 says:

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Father, I come to you in the name of Your Son, my Savior, Yeshua,

And I ask that you fill my children with the best tasting fruit there is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  I ask that you would give me the discipline and correction needed when I do not share this fruit with them or others.

Help my children to put aside the ways of this world, selfish behavior, sinful behavior, lustful and perverse behavior.  These are false pleasures that lead no where.  Help them learn to have passion for the things of righteousness and honor.

Place in them the desires of Your heart, Oh, Yehovah.

Help them look to Christ and His death and be willing to die to themselves.

Lastly, as they are raised in Your ways and truth, let them not be arrogant or conceited in their works of righteousness.  Let them always remember that it is through Christ alone that they are set free and know Truth.

May Your Spirit guide them always and may they never forget that we are to exhibit Truth and Love.

Amen
