
Day 4 The Joy of Yehovah (40 Prayers for my Husband)
40 days of Prayers for my Husband . Biblical MarriageIn today’s reading from the 40 Prayers for My Spouse series by Fierce Marriage the topic for the husband and wife actually go hand in hand. The husband’s are praying about contentment, and the wives are praying about joy. Whenever I think of the word, joy, I think of strength. As in, the Joy of Yehovah is My Strength!
So I decided to look up a few more verses on Joy this morning before I prayed.
I came up with hundreds of verses, but I picked a handful to pray over my husband today.
1. Yehovah God be my husbands strength and defense.
Exodus 15:1–4
Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:
“I will sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.
“The Lord is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
The Lord is a warrior;
the Lord is his name.
Pharaoh’s chariots and his army
he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
are drowned in the Red Sea.
2. God be his refuge and strength: Psalm 46:1–3
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
3. Yehovah be his strong tower: Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a fortified tower
the righteous run to it and are safe.
4. Let us run and not grow weary: Isaiah 40:29–31
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
5. Strengthened and upheld him by Your hands: Isaiah 41:9–10
I took you from the ends of the earth,
from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
6. Use his weakness to prefect Your Strength:
2 Corinthians 12:9–10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
7. Make him strong You alone, so he can stand against evil schemes:
Ephesians 6:10–11
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
8. Through him who gives us strength: Philippians 4:11–13
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Yehovah, as I read through each of these passages of scripture, my heart asks that you would apply them to my husband, myself, and our marriage. Help us find our joy in you alone. Help us be content in all circumstances. Help us to trust in you always even in trials and tribulations. Strengthen us with you deep joy for those days that could over take us.
Yah, I ask that when the enemy attacks my husband and brings temptations of this world before him, that he would reach deep inside and find that joy that only comes from you and that peace that passes all understanding, and he would stand firm in the truth of your Word. Evil surrounds us, but your Joy is our strength in times of trouble.
So make my husband a mighty Warrior in this battle for truth.

(Note to readers: Philippians chapter four is one of my favorite passages to just pray word for word over those I love. If you every need a prayer for your loved ones the letters of Paul are a great place to look.)
