Ten Tips to help you on your Bible reading Journey
Some of the Hirn’s have taken the 90 day challenge before, and wanted to share some tips we think might help you on your journey.
1. Have a plan.
Choose a good reading plan. It doesn’t have to be the one we are doing. There are lots of them out there google 90 day Bible reading challenge and you will find them. Our plan has a lot of reading in one day, but has a grace day every seventh day. Some plans have you read less and even skip sections. Find one that works for you.
2. Make the time.
Set a time to do your reading each day, and make sure you set enough time aside. The average reader should be able to silently read through the whole Bible in 90 days by reading about 45 minutes a day. If you have trouble focusing for that long then split the time in half.
We will be reading at 8:30 pm as a family. It will take us about an hour and a half to read our sections, since we are reading out loud. It typically take a person twice as long to read out loud.
3. Pray First.
Before you read ask the Holy Spirit to help guide your heart and mind.
4. Read! Don’t study.
This is important. If you want to complete the reading in 90 days, you have to read it like a story book, not a study guide. We often want to stop and research something or study it out. This is NOT the time for that.
5. Don’t Stop.
Life happens and sometimes you get behind. Instead of quitting, just start on the day your on. Sure you won’t have the whole Bible read, but you will still get a lot in, and that is awesome.
6. Don’t Stress
Don’t stress about it. If you get behind, just start on the day your on. If you only missed a day or two you can try and catch up, but it isn’t a test, it isn’t going to be the end of the world if you miss a few pages.
7. Journal, Draw, and/or discuss.
To really get the most out of the reading find a way to lock it in. Since you will read so much in one sitting, you won’t be able to remember everything. But those things that jumped out at you write about them or draw a picture. Also, discuss it with others. That is why we are posting this on facebook and here, so to encourage one another.
A Hirn post will be posted daily to encourage you to keep going.
(one thing I like to do is use a bright colored pencil and highlight passages or words as I am reading, that way I can move quickly, but later go back and see what stood out to me.)
If you don’t place this above tv time, video gaming time, or other fun activities then you won’t keep at it. Decide right now to make it important. We are doing it before bed time, which means we are putting it ahead of sleeping.
9. Stimulate your mind before and during your reading time.
We do brain gym activities before we start. Stretch your body and stretch your mind. About half way into your reading time actually get up and stretch and walk around. Drink lots of water to keep your mind alert.
10. Expect to have your life changed.
This will be a time where God will reveal himself to you in ways you never even thought of before. LEt him change your thinking and encourage your heart.

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
