As many of you know I regularly pray for Lizzie to have peace of mind and a spirit of gratitude, rather than bitterness. I admit that I often feel like I am not reaching her or helping her to know the peace of YHVH God. But I continue to pray, believing He does great things.
This past week something strange happened, and I want to share it with you as a way of giving God glory and praise. Often when I pray for Lizzie, I pray that she might find a purpose in her life. It seems like a strange prayer to pray for someone who can not move her own body or speak with her own mouth. But it is my firm belief that if people, all people, no matter how limited, have a sense of purpose then they will thrive and grow. So, I often would try and give her a purpose by telling her she could praise God and be grateful to those her serve her and that would be a blessing to them. But she didn’t seem to ever get what I was trying to teach her. This past week, we had visitors. Our son in law, came to visit us and prepare for his and Rachel’s wedding. When he came he brought his grandpa. Grandpa Carman is a dear, sweet man. We had never met before his visit, and honestly, I was worried if the kids would soon annoy or just wear on him. But that never happened. He just enjoyed them all continuously. And then he met Lizzie. As soon as he met her, he was blessed by her. I honestly don’t think anyone has ever felt blessed to know Lizzie. But Grandpa Carman did. He had known a young man with very similar conditions as Lizzie, and had a special bond with that young man years ago. As soon as he saw Lizzie he was taken back to those times with that young man. It made him so glad to just sit and talk to Lizzie, to see Lizzie smile. He was sincere and kind towards her. He had no obligation to her, yet just felt like she was a special blessing from God. I don’t know how to explain what happened next, but I truly think it was a healing.
I have learned over the years to speak out when you see the Mighty Hand of YHVH move, because if you keep silent then Satan will come in and trick you into believing that what you saw didn’t really happen. So, I am shouting out here to all who will read this YHVH God gave Lizzie a purpose. He opened her heart and mind to understand what I had been trying to teach her, what others had tried to teach her before me. She realized she could bless someone else without demanding anything in return. Now here is the crazy part, so if you don’t think God works in mysterious ways then just ignore this next part. But, I have to tell the whole story.
The day after Grandpa Carman visited with Lizzie she had what appeared to be a stroke, she was not with us for almost 30 minutes. She was breathing and her eyes were open but she was gone somewhere else. It was strange and a little scary. But the whole time she was in this strange state she had a grin on her face and appeared very content, and her whole body was loose. She is normally very, very tight due to her cerebral palsy. After she came to she remained with a smile on her face and a new look of contentment and peace, and she still is loose in her muscle tone.
I honestly don’t know what physically took place in Lizzie’s mind, but I can tell you this, she has a new attitude. I am excited to see how she continues to behave in the weeks to come, and to see if she will hold on to this feeling she has found of being able to bless someone else. She has been laughing and joyful ever since this experience she had.
Praise YHVH God with us for the good things He has done, and pray that Lizzie will continue to grow in her knowledge and understanding of who God is and who He created her to be.
We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
We would love to send you an email each time we have a new post. Sometimes we post a lot, but we're a busy family, so sometimes there are a few weeks between posts. Sign up today and never miss another post!
Thank you for sharing, what a beautiful thing to see YHVH working on hearts and bringing people together who can bless each other
