Be Like Christ, be a Copycat (Fake it Til you Make It)
Katie, the Cleaning Lady . Katie's RamblingsRead Ephesians 5
When I was a child I couldn’t read. I struggled in learning to read due to being a very hyper and busy child, and severely dyslexic. My mom and sisters love to read and were always reading book after book. Daily my mom and older sister would read their Bible and study it. I wanted to be just like my big sister. I saw her as smart, popular, and talented.
I would often follow her around and annoy her. I just wanted to be where she was and do what she was doing. But she was always reading, and I couldn’t read. Every night she would read her Bible and write in her journal. When I was thirteen, I got my own diary and simple devotional. I think my sister actually bought them for me.
Every night, I would do my best to read that devotional, and then write a letter to God in my diary.
Yesterday, I was dealing with my soon to be 12 year old daughter, and I was feeling frustrated with her immature, selfish, and naughty behavior. After I spoke to her for a few minutes and sent her to bed, I happened to notice that my diary from when I was 13 was beside my bed. I picked that up and began reading it to myself. It was full of prayer after prayer of how sorry I was that I kept being naughty and failing God. It was full of words of hope, love, and desire to be more like Christ. Day after day, the simple prayers were the same. Please Lord, help me do right, help me be more like you. Forgive me for my selfish behavior.
Next week, my daughter will be 12, and I will be 48. As, I looked at those simple prayers in my diary I realized not much has changed in the desire of my heart, but a great deal has changed in how I see, know, and understand God. I was a child and I behaved like a child, but God never left me. He remained and continues to remain and draw me near.
The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Yehovah. When I wasn’t always confident that I could do something as a child my mom would say, ” fake it til you make it.” Maybe you think you just keep failing in being like Christ. Don’t give up, start again today.
If you want to succeed in life you must start by building a firm relationship with your Messiah. All the answers in life are found in Him, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the WORD.

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
