If I just opened my Bible and read this long genealogical list in 1 Chronicles 1-16, it would be hard to read because they would mean nothing to me. But because I read from the beginning of the Bible to here, they mean something, I understand it better! Now that’s pretty cool!! The names have significance! The awesome part is that all these genealogy’s lead up to Jesus!
Sometimes, when I read genealogies, I get bored. But then I remeber that the Word is living, and nothing was put in there by accident. All Holy scripture is God-breathed, isn’t that amazing?!?!
One of the things that I find really cool is that each name means something! You might find a name really wierd and laugh at it. I do that all the time. But then I check out the meaning and I’m like, “Now that’s a cool name!” I love looking up names and seeing what they mean. I would encourage you to look up the meaning of you name! It’s actually kind of fun! =)
My name Lydia= Maiden
Lucinda= Light; beautiful.
Sometimes, if you look very closely, you might find a story in the genealogy!
One time I was studying the book of Genesis. The leader pointed out how this genealogy is the story of Jesus! All the way back in Gensis?! It’s so cool!
Take a look at it:
Adam- Man of earth
Seth- is appionted
Enosh-a mortal man of
Kenan- sorrow is born
Mahalalel- the glory of God
Jared-shall come down
Enoch- instructing that
Methusalah- those in despair
Noah- comfort and rest
* Jesus coming down to save us!*
I just find that awesome!

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
