Dyslexics don’t understand phonics
Every word is a sight word.
Never Compare.
Trust me even the most seemingly apathetic dyslexic cares that they aren’t a reader. We are painfully aware that our younger siblings are reading, and we aren’t. We know, we are missing out on adventures and knowledge found in books. When I was younger, I greatly desired to read, and I was extremely jealous of my younger sister and cousin. I thought they were much smarter than me because they could read. The best coping mechanism I had was to pretend I didn’t care. To pretend it didn’t matter but, it did. My point parents, don’t get discouraged if your child seems not to care. If they truly don’t care now, trust me, they eventually will.
Focusing is very important. (and extremely hard to do)
Not all reading activities are found in books.
- Memorize scripture
- Learn a poem, rhyme or song
- Brain gym activities
- Coloring in the lines (color by numbers are good too)
- Writing a word, then drawing a picture of it, or making the word with clay, sculpting a picture of the word
- Balancing games
- Crawling games
- Hand tossing (tossing a ball back and forth to yourself)
- Lazy eights

We are Bible believing, scripture only people. We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith. We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God. The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.
These writings were originally written by men inspired by God. They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents. Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains. Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.
In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua. Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
