90 Day Challenge with Little Ones

Bible Reading Challenge

challengeYou may think reading through the Bible in 90 days sounds like a challenge.  And you would be right.  It is a commitment to stick with it and focus on it.  But, we like challenges here, and so we made it an extra challenge this summer by not only committing to reading through the Bible, but doing it as a family.  So, that means everyone has to read or listen to it.  Reading the Bible outloud to small children can be fun and entertaining, but it can also be hard and boring at times.

The amazing thing is children are amazingly capable of learning and sitting still for long periods of time.  All it takes is some discipline and training.

I would like to share some photos and comments about the little ones during our reading times so far.

Often to help little ones sit still Dad and Mom will have them sit on our laps as we read.
Rachel likes to jot things down as shereads to stay focused.
Bekah reading outloud (with Miah so lovingly offer help with the words, even if Bekah doesn’t need it. LOL)

Josh snuggles up by Tyler and looks on in her Bible so as to not lose his place.
All the big kids have their Bible’s open and follow along even when the little ones take a turn at reading.
Lydia encouraging her seat buddy to keep going.

Sometimes if it is hard to stay focused, we might scratch or rub each others backs 9like Josh is for Brenden here).
When we stop to explain things it helps us all refocus.
Flat Stanley came to visit us, and enjoyed reading with us.

Often to help our minds refocus we will walk around, and it never hurts to hold a little one while

Keep Reading and teaching.

Things to know as you visit our site

We are Bible believing, scripture only people.  We love to learn about the Hebrew roots of our faith.  We believe it is important to not add or subtract from the Divine Word of God.  The compiled scriptures that agree with one another and have no contradiction is the 66 books of what is commonly referred to as the Christian Bible, or the Holy Bible.

These writings were originally written by men inspired by God.  They were written in the language of the writers and readers of the original documents.  Many of the original documents have been lost, but God’s Word is eternal and remains.  Therefore, it is important to us to study, learn, and consider the culture, history, and language of the original writers of the scriptures.

In our studies we have learned that the true name of God is Yehovah, and His son, our Messiah, is named Yeshua.  Therefore, as you read our posts we will use the Hebrew names of God and our Messiah.
